The latest generation of the Honda CR-V crossover will be unveiled in Thailand on March 2023. And it won't look exactly like the US market spec revealed last year.
In fact, the exterior is more similar to the Dongfeng Honda-built CR-V which we previewed last year.
Our friends at sister publication WapCar Malaysia reported that the CR-V will make its ASEAN debut at the upcoming Bangkok International Motor Show, which will be held from March 22 to April 2, 2023.
The sixth-generation CR-V was first unveiled in the USA on July 2022.
The Thai-market model will be available in two variants – a VTEC Turbo with all-wheel drive and the top-spec e:HEV RS hybrid model.
Although the final specifications have not yet been released, the upcoming CR-V will feature Honda’s LaneWatch camera, along with the Honda SENSING active-safety suite.
Meanwhile, the e:HEV RS gets larger two-tone wheels, black side mirrors, LED headlamps and a sporty RS front grill.
Civic hybrid engine available
The all-new CR-V will also get two powerplants in Thailand.
First is a turbocharged 1.5-liter, twin-cam, 16-valve inline-4 gasoline engine pumping out 193 PS and 243 Nm of torque.
The other is a 2.0-liter, twin-cam, 16-valve inline-4 gasoline engine mated to an electric motor. This has a combined output of 204 PS and 335 Nm of torque.
Both engines are mated to a continuously variable transmission.
