From the headlamp side, the Toyota Hilux adopts a fairly large headlamp design with a trapezoidal shape that extends upwards. On the front grill, it still uses a tiered iron design with chrome accents for the double cabin variant, and black doff for the single cabin variant.

Switching to the side design of the rigid model is immediately visible, because the side design of the Toyota Hilux does not have many body curves, the side glass also shows a standard design as in the previous Hilux version. on the back of the car a solid impression is immediately obtained when you see the stop lamp of the Toyota Hilux specification which is box-shaped and there is a triangular accent on the side as a turn signal. In addition, the rear bumper is designed in a very minimalist manner with additional steel parts placed under the tub that are wrapped in silver.

  • Interior

Usually, for cars targeting the vehicle truck segment, they will neglect the interior and place more importance on performance and body capacity. but Toyota still pays attention to the interior even though this new car is targeting the field worker user segment. For the highest variant, namely the Toyota Hilux 2.5 E 4X4 M/T Double Cabin, it is equipped with high-end interior specifications. For example, the use of a steering wheel made of leather and equipped with an informative instrument panel.

On the dashboard, the Toyota Hilux is equipped with a 6.1-inch touchscreen display as an audio input and can also be integrated with an iPod using a Bluetooth connection. Unlike Hilux models of yore, the current-generation model gets a more upmarket dashboard, with selected variants receiving an Optitron instrument cluster and digital climate control system. The Toyota Hilux also gets a chilled upper glovebox.

    Space and Practicality

In the cabin, the Toyota Hilux double cabin can accommodate up to four passengers. As for the extra cabin (single cabin), the back of the cabin can only function as luggage. Although narrower, the rear cabin of the Toyota Hilux single cabin is still able to accommodate additional passengers, although it is quite risky because there is no seatbelt. For the Hilux single cabin, it can only accommodate two passengers, but this has an impact on the storage capacity of the car tub being more spacious. The many variants and choices presented by the Toyota Hilux specifications will certainly make it easier for consumers to determine which type suits their needs.

The truck bed of the Toyota Hilux comes in two different sizes, as the Hilux Single Cab has a larger truck bed than the Double Cab.

    Ride comfort

    Steering and Handling

Similar to other pick-up trucks, the Hilux's steering is on the heavier end of the scale. Steering response is predictable.

    Sound Proofing

The Hilux's utilitarian DNA is made apparent here - we wished that sound proofing and cabin refinement levels was better as engine noise can be noticeable at speeds.

    Passenger Comfort

Ride comfort of the Toyota Hilux is nothing to write home about - it is decent enough for daily commute, though for those seeking a comfortable pick-up truck should consider the Mitsubishi Triton or Ford Ranger instead.

  • Conclusion

It's not hard to see why the Toyota Hilux is so popular - it has a solid reputation for reliability and durability that it built over the years. Couple that with the fact that even in rural parts of East Malaysia, Hilux parts can be found in a village grocery store makes it a default choice for many - private and business owners alike.
