Having undergone several model changes, the current City is the 7th generation across the globe, and the 5th in the Philippines. Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) is offering the City in three variants: S, V, and RS with a price range of ₱938,000 – ₱1,078,000. All variants come with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder i-VTEC gasoline engine which generates 119 hp and 145 Nm of torque. In addition, all variants come with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The Honda City features an ECON button on the RS and V variants along with an eco-coach ambient meter function. Activating the ECON button changes the dynamics of the engine to make it perform optimally to help improve fuel efficiency.

    History & Launch

    Back in 1981, the first generation Honda City was actually a 3-door vehicle made for the Japanese, European and Australian markets. The 3-door City was retired in 1994 and revived in 1996, to be used on a subcompact four-door sedan aimed primarily at developing markets. From then on, the City has evolved to its current iteration which is manufactured using Honda’s Global Small Car platform. The 5th generation Honda City was launched in the Philippines on October 22, 2020.     The fifth generation Honda City strikes an all-new design that make it look like a sophisticated subcompact sedan. The exterior of the 2022 Honda City is adhering to Honda’s design language, the front fascia of the City shares some design cues that are slightly similar to those found on the Civic and Accord. In terms of exterior features, the top spec City RS variant comes completely loaded such as, full LED headlights with auto off timer and fog lights. There’s also a trunk mounted rear spoiler, RS front grille with RS emblem and RS Design 16-inch alloy wheels that make the RS variant quite a looker.

    The other variants of the City receive halogen projector lamps and a chrome front grille with 16-inch alloy wheels for the V variant and 15-inch for the S variants.
