The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC initially made its global debut in 2022 and has now entered the Philippine market, bringing many new features plus a new mid-hybrid engine.

Mercedes-Benz Philippines has initially brought in one variant of the available crossover, but it looks to expand the model range soon.

During the launch event, the German automaker's distributor, Auto Nation Group, also shared that it will bring more electric and hybrid vehicles into the country in the coming years, with an EV model expected to come soon.

The GLC has grown in size compared to its older version. It measures 4716mm long, 1,890mm wide, and 640mm tall. It's 60mm longer and 4mm shorter than before. Because of its length, it now measures 2,888mm.

Aside from its new larger size, the new Mercedes-Benz GLC also comes with the brand’s performance LED headlights connected to its grille, giving the crossover SUV a more imposing presence while retaining sleek bodylines. The GLC also rides on 19-inch 10-twin-spoke alloy wheels painted with tremolite accents.

At the back, the GLC gets a new set of LED taillights with a sleek new roof line and a new bumper that houses faux exhaust ports. The vehicle has twin exhausts located further inside the rear end, far from the bumper.

As for storage, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz has 620 liters worth of open luggage capacity with the second-row seats up, but if you put them down with a press of a button, it will increase to 1,680 liters.

On the inside, the Mercedes-Benz GLC gets a similar dashboard layout to its sedan brother, the C-Class. Highlights of the interior include a massive 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster display and an 11.9-inch portrait-style infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The infotainment system also has the brand’s latest version of its MBUX software and is paired with a 15-speaker Burnmester 3D surround sound system. The crossover also has a wireless charging system for mobile devices at the front, with USB type-C ports in the center console and inside the center armrest.

We noticed that the infotainment is slightly askew as it is rotated to benefit the driver. If you are a rear passenger, you will find the positioning of the screen odd and off-center.

As for its interior materials, plenty of soft-touch plastics in the cabin are paired with ARTIC artificial leather.

The mild-hybrid system is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels with the brand’s 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system. Speaking of its all-wheel-drive system, the GLC also has OFFROAD mode with a DYNAMIC SELECT feature that can adjust the engine and transmission to give you the best performance on almost any terrain.
