Along with the launch, members of the media were given a short Question and Answer (Q&A) with key members of the Mercedes-Benz Philippine team.
There the media could ask questions about the GLC and the German automaker’s plans for the future. When asked about the brand’s future lineup of vehicles, the panel did not name-drop any specific models.
However, they did state that more electrified models are coming soon, indicating more hybrid versions of its current lineup of vehicles and that a fully electric vehicle (EV) is also coming to the local market. No specific model names were mentioned, but a vague launch year timeline was given for the EV between 2024 and 2025.
The EQE is a likely candidate for the upcoming EV, as it is available as a sedan and an SUV. It opens up the German automaker locally to more options for body styles that will suit the Philippine market.
If the local market gets the EQE Sedan, it could come with around 480 kilometers of range and fast charging capabilities. The EV can charge from 1% to 80% in 30 minutes with a DC charger. Depending on the variant the automaker brings, it can have an output of either 288 PS or 402 PS. The standard model of the EQE Sedan is a front-wheel drive, but an all-wheel drive model is available.
The EQE SUV has around 450 kilometers worth of range and has the same drivetrain options as its sedan counterpart. Depending on the variant, power figures will range from 288 PS to 402 PS. An all-wheel-drive system is also available with the EV. Like its sedan brother, the SUV model also has fast charging capabilities.

The EQS is also available as a sedan or SUV, opening up the options to the German automaker for the Philippine market.
The EQS SUV has around 490 kilometers of range on a single charge and accommodates faster DC charging. It produces 355 PS to 536 PS depending on the variant chosen. Like the EQE SUV, it also has all-wheel drive available. Unlike its EQE siblings, the EQS range is rear-wheel drive as standard.
If you want something more luxurious and closer to the ground, the German brand also has the EQS Sedan. It has around 560 kilometers of range and has standard fast charging capabilities. Like its SUV counterpart, it is rear-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is available. Regarding its output, it produces 329 PS for the entry-level model and 516 PS for the top-grade model.
While bringing in the EQS is enticing for the local market, its local availability will still depend on where Mercedes-Benz can source the units.
More hybrids
Mercedes-Benz could also release more hybrid vehicles. Aside from the GLC and the C-Class, the German automaker could add more electrified models for the A-Class, E-Class, and S-Class model lineups.
However, the German brand will start with light electrification by introducing more mild hybrids, then full hybrid models soon after.
