Lapit na! Mitsubishi Philippines holding special preview of the all-new 2024 Triton on Oct. 20 01

Mitsubishi Philippines to preview all-new Triton as the new pickup truck, which is set to launch in early 2024.

Mitsubishi Philippines has something special in store, as the Japanese automaker is holding a special preview of the all-new 2024 Mitsubishi Triton pick-up truck.

It will be done through Facebook Live on the carmaker's official Facebook page on Oct. 20, 2023 at 6 p.m.

The next-generation Triton originally debuted in Thailand with a new iteration of the brand’s dynamic shield design language, a tougher exterior look, a new chassis and a more powerful turbodiesel engine.

For the Philippine market, Mitsubishi will be ditching the Strada nameplate in favor of the Triton name to make naming conventions easier globally.

What to expect from the preview

The preview will have no official price reveal although indicative prices might be shown, but there will be key features of the pick-up truck shown during the live event.

This was according to a source with intimate knowledge of the upcoming event, but spoke to AutoFun Philippines on the condition of strict anonymity for lack of authority to discuss the matter.

These features will likely be included in the final version of the pick-up truck that is set to enter the market sometime in January 2024.

Nonetheless, we assume that the preview will highlight the new exterior of the vehicle, its off-road capabilities, its more horizontally styled interior and other important features like its 9-inch infotainment system that comes with Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto.

Mitsubishi Philippines may also highlight the high-tech safety features that the pickup truck has, such as its advanced driver assist systems, which include adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist.

The Japanese automaker may even showcase the new and more powerful 2.4-liter inline-4 turbodiesel that pushes out around 204 PS and 470 Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed automatic.

It's still being determined if Mitsubishi Philippines will follow its counterpart in Thailand, where the old and new versions of the 2.4-liter engine were made available for the next-generation Triton.

For now, it's a waiting game to see what Mitsubishi Philippines will have in store at the event, but we assume that it will have more teasers for the new pick-up truck ahead of its launch next year.
