The Mitsubishi Montero Sport carries Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield design language that’s also similar to the Mitsubishi Xpander MPV and Strada pickup.

The grille treatment and the C-shaped accents are now sleeker and look more refined. The new bumper also comes with new headlamps and relocates the lights to the lower portion.

At the back, there’s also a new bumper with a redesigned lower diffuser and LED tail lights that got shorter. The Montero Sport measures 4,825mm long, 1,815mm wide, the wheelbase measures 2,800mm, and 218mm of ground clearance. The Montero Sport comes in the following colors, white diamond, jet black mica, graphite grey metallic, medium red and sterling silver metallic.

Other notable additions include, 8-way power-adjustable seats, user-friendly HVAC controls, a dual-zone automatic climate control system, hands-free access tailgate, and an electrical outlet plus two USB charging ports for the rear passengers.

The spacious and comfortable interior still features leather upholstery depending on the variant, plus steering wheel-mounted controls.
In terms of cabin space, the Montero Sport has plenty to offer with its configurable seats. The second row has a 60-40 split fold while the third row has a 50-50 split fold capability, allowing for more cabin space to load all kinds of cargo.

Safety Features

Standard safety features on the Montero Sport include, Brake Override, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), front airbags for driver and passenger, ISO-Fix child seats and tether anchors. side-impact beams, and speed-sensing door locks. The Montero Sport top spec variants are equipped with stability and traction control, extra four airbags, trailer stability control, hill descent control, hill start and brake assist.

The Montero Sport GT 4WD also features what Mitsubishi calls the Multi-Around Monitor. Views from cameras mounted on the front, rear and sides of the vehicle, including a bird's eye view, can be displayed in various combinations to make parking safer.

Technology Features

Coming in as standard on all variants of the Mitsubishi Montero Sport is an 8-inch infotainment system that comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Capabilities. Functions such as Bluetooth connectivity and Aux input are also standard on all variants. The sounds are heard through a 6-speaker audio system.  The Mitsubishi Montero Sport comes with, front and rear parking sensors, cruise control, and a push to start button. A navigation system is also available with most variants of the Montero Sport. The top spec Montero Sport comes with a power tailgate with keyless operation system. The tailgate can be closed or opened by placing a foot over the bottom of the rear bumper, activating the sensors. Even the tailgate height opening can also be set.

Platform and Chassis

The Mitsubishi Montero Sport is a five door mid-size SUV utilizing a reinforced ladder on frame chassis using Mitsubishi’s K- Platform. It also comes either as a four wheel drive or two wheel drive driveline configuration. The suspension of the Montero Sport features a double-wishbone suspension with coil springs, shocks and a stabilizer bar up front. A 3-link set up with coil springs, shocks and stabilizer bar comprises the rear suspension. It also comes with new 18-inch wheels in two-tone finish with 265/60R18 tires. The Montero Sport relies on a power assisted 4-wheel disc brake system for its stopping capabilities.
