The 2023 Toyota Alphard is set to launch in Japan very soon; while the Japanese automaker has been quiet about the MPV’s details, leaked images have appeared online through a Japanese social media site giving us a sneak peek of what to expect.

The new images showcase the Toyota Alphard and its sibling, the Toyota Vellfire, in what appears to be a factory or storage facility. 

These were spotted by our friends from Wapcar, who were able to give us access to these images.

Subtle and luxurious Alphard

While other images of the 2023 Toyota Alphard are available online, most are just renders of the vehicle. However, this latest batch showcases the MPV in the metal.

As we can see, it will keep its sizeable shield-like grille design with its sleek LED headlights. However, one new difference with the all-new Alphard is that it now carries a traditional Toyota logo versus its older proprietary badging. 
 

Toyota has yet to confirm if the traditional logo will be standard for all markets, but from the looks of it, that is the case to simplify the Alphard/Vellfire model lineup.

Meanwhile, at the vehicle's rear, the all-new Alphard retains much of its breadbox shape from its previous iteration but now carries slightly larger LED taillights and a new tailgate garnish. 

The taillights do resemble what we saw previously in a sneaked-out photo from what looked like a product training workshop.

More chrome for the Vellfire 

Aside from the Alphard, images of the 2023 Toyota Vellfire have also been leaked online, showcasing the exterior of the MPV.

Like its Alphard sibling, it, too, retains a prominent shield-like front fascia with its split-type LED headlights but with a more horizontal grille layout.

The Vellfire includes more horizontal and angular design elements versus the Alphard, which has a few more curves.

Based on the leaked image, the Vellfire appears to be sportier in its overall theme versus its brother, the Alphard, with more chrome accents at the front and rear of the MPV.

Speaking of the rear, the Vellfire retains the same boxy shape as the Alphard but with a slightly different motif to its LED taillights and tailgate garnish. 

Something we have to point out with the Toyota Vellfire is that the leaked images show that it comes with new badging.

A closer look reveals that the badges indicate HEV and E-Four. This means that for this specific model of the Vellfire, it could be a hybrid and that it comes with all-wheel drive. 

A new platform

The Toyota Alphard and Vellfire now use the TNGA-K platform they share with the all-new Lexus LM. They could likely share the same powerplants available: a 2.4-liter turbocharged gasoline engine and a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated hybrid system.

It's important to note that Toyota has yet to disclose the power figures of the two engine options, so we will just have to wait for the global reveal of the all-new MPV.
