After a long hiatus, the Supra marks Toyota’s return in the performance-driven, 2-door premium sports car segment. Banking on the rich heritage of the Supra, it embodies all the characteristic traits that a performance sports car should possess. Power is of utmost importance and this comes courtesy of a BMW-sourced, 3.0-liter, inline-6, twin-scroll turbocharged gasoline engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission that's capable of generating 335 hp and 500 Nm of torque.

In the first generation, the Celica XX in Japan, or which is marketed under the name Celica Supra for export is the Celica Liftback whose wheelbase is longer to accommodate a 6-cylinder engine.
