After a long hiatus, the Supra marks Toyota’s return in the performance-driven, 2-door premium sports car segment. The Toyota Supra is a high-performance sports car produced by Toyota Motor Corporation, Japan from 1978 to 2002. Initially, the Supra was a luxury version of the 6-cylinder engine of the Toyota Celica. Starting in 1986, the Supra became a separate sports car that had nothing to do with the Celica. In the first generation, the Celica XX in Japan, or which is marketed under the name Celica Supra for export is the Celica Liftback whose wheelbase is longer to accommodate a 6-cylinder engine.

In addition, this car is also produced for the Asian region such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines etc.

The fifth-generation Supra was released initially released in the Philippines on July of 2019 as the GR Supra, which is part of Toyota's Gazoo Racing (GR) line of performance cars. The current-generation J29/DB Supra is the direct successor to the A80 Supra. Developed in partnership with BMW, the GR Supra features the same chassis and dimensions as the BMW Z4. It even uses a 3.0-liter inline-six BMW engine with a twin-scroll turbo. The said power plant produces 335 hp and 500 Nm of torque. Despite sharing platforms and engines, the GR Supra is not exactly a clone of the BVMW Z4 as Toyota has infused a lot of its own style and features. Here in the Philippines, the GR Supra is available in a single variant with 2 color choices to choose from with a starting price of 4,990,000 to 5,050,000. There are only 16 Toyota dealerships in the Philippines that are capable of servicing a brand-new GR Supra.
