As the new Civic model is released, sooner or later, a new Civic Type R will come out. With the new Civic looking more like an Accord, which is more elegant, more formal, more adult, the new Civic Type R can definitely take on this trend and have a more formal re-design despite the red Honda badge screaming at the front and back. For now, as the current Type R which first showed in 2017 is still being sold in the country, and the first Civic Type R that's released in the Philippines, here are some things we'll miss from the current one.

Oozing Sportiness

The Civic Type R is the ultimate "laglag panty/brip/undergarment" kind of car for any Honda loving person. It looks like a freaking robot on the exterior or a spaceship (or airplane, whatever you like) with its two rear wings, and in the interior, with all red and black trims, you'd feel like in the cockpit of a true mean machine. As you start the engine, you'd know that the sportiness does not start and end with the looks, but it's also present in the performance. The 2.0-liter VTEC Turbo engine produces 310 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-Speed Manual Transmission that has a Rev-Match control system. If your undies weren't dropped when you see the Civic Type R, it's when you've actually ridden in one that you'd definitely lose your clothing down there, perhaps due to a little wee or something else.

Sensible and Safe

The Honda City Type R is a sports car from the factory, no doubt, but it can also be a sensible excuse for an everyday car. Think of it this way. It has ample boot size. It has ample room for passengers like a normal sedan. You can even fold the back row all the way down for some trips and errands which require the space. In terms of safety, additional to all the airbags and other staples is Honda Sensing. I told you it's sensible and safe.

It's attainable

The Civic Type R starts at 3.21 million pesos. Yes, its much, much pricier than your regular Civic, much more your regular City, but you are buying the Type R because you want to live a double life – sensible yet a weekend track racer. What you're paying for is the opportunity to do both, or you can drop the act and just buy the car and use it on track unapologetically. The point is, as a sports car, the price is very achievable. As a sports car AND a daily, well, you can just kid yourself and say to the wife you bought something for the family and is value for money.

As the City Type R changes in due time, this current version is definitely going to be a classic to be remembered by those who owned and admired it with great fondness. The best part? Another Type R will be rolling out pretty soon, and it can be as great as this one.
