Jetour Auto Philippines, the newly appointed distributors of Jetour SUVs in the country that is jointly formed by Autospeedygo Group and Gateway Group, has just also cornered the distributorship of the Chery QQ Ice Cream Sundae battery electric vehicle.
Sources from Jetour Auto Philippines have indicated the EV will be launched at the Manila International Auto Show together with its SUV lineup.
Chery Auto Philippines, the distirbutor of Chery cars and SUVs has apparently been bypassed in this deal which was only signed earlier today.

The Chery QQ Ice Cream Sundae is a three-door, four-seat micro EV with 27 PS and a 13.9 kWh battery pack onboard. It has a claimed range of 170 kilometers. We earlier reviewed an example of this EV which is currently being imported by Supercharged Motors.
What makes the distributorship deal with Jetour Auto Philippines significant is that it will bring the EV under Freight On Board (FOB) rates with the vehicles sourced directly from Chery Holdings.
This is different from buying the vehicles from a dealership in China which is what grey market sellers usually enagage in.
It also means that the Chery QQ Ice Cream could be the first affordable EV that is legitimately sold by an official distributor of the brand. And this means proper parts and warranty support, as well as trained servicing.

According to our source, the public can expect around 30% lower Suggested Retail Price from what grey market sellers charge currently once Jetour Auto Philippines starts selling the EV to the market.
The Chery QQ Ice Cream Sundae is locally sold for ₱888,000 at grey market rates.
No final specifications of the EV have yet been revealed. But the suggested lower pricing can be a compelling draw for many.
