Alone time with your car: What to do while everyone is out of town this Holy Week

Holy Week is upon us, and most are out of town on long road trips as part of their time-honored family traditions. For those left behind, it's a glorious time to enjoy a nearly traffic-free Metro Manila.

With the roads decongested, the question arises, with most, if not all, out of Metro Manila, what can you do around the area with your car?

Some streets will be empty at night, so why not test your photography skills and get some pictures of your car?

Find a nice place with a great background, and take a few pictures of your car. Just ensure that you aren't impeding traffic if you plan to take photos on the road. 

Conversely, you can also go out during the day and look for parking lots with great views. Just make sure these areas are open to the public. You can even share the photo that you took of your car on social media along with your experience taking it.

Go out for a leisurely drive

Holy Week is also an ideal time to take your project car out for a leisurely drive. You can stretch your car’s legs safely to the nearby mountain roads. 

Just ensure it's in top condition so you won’t encounter any breakdowns along the way. Plan your trip after the initial departure outside Metro Manila and before people return from the provinces. 

Drive out and explore

With traffic at a minimum, Holy Week could be your time to explore the streets of Metro Manila at its least crowded. You might find something interesting during your travels, such as a new hang-out spot or a great place to eat.

Install parts

This one is for the more experienced car enthusiasts, but Holy Week could be the best chance to install the parts you have amassed over time. While installing certain parts requires some know-how, smaller accessories, such as a dashcam, are a more straightforward process.

Attend a car meet or a run

You won’t be the only one who decided not to go out of town for Holy Week. Chances are there will be a car meet or a car run during the holiday season, so keep an eye out for those. It's an excellent opportunity to meet like-minded individuals and appreciate other vehicles.
