Chevrolet has introduced a new vehicle to its American lineup in the form of a three-row sport-utility vehicle (SUV) – the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse.

The SUV gets a fresh look inside and out and is available with a new, off-road-oriented Z71 trim. It also gets a new 2.5-liter turbocharged motor.

Exterior

On the outside, the Chevrolet Traverse has the brand’s iconic design language for its SUVs, with its thin LED daytime running lights at the top, followed by its actual LED headlights in the middle of the bumper.

The SUV also gets a massive split grille and black body cladding to complement its imposing broad front fascia. 

Compared to its previous iteration, the all-new Traverse has a wider track and more than one inch of increased ground clearance. You can get the SUV with 18-inch or 22-inch wheels, depending on the model.

The Traverse also manages rough terrain with unique dampers and hydraulic rebound control.

Interior

Inside, the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse has a simple dashboard layout with a curved design that slopes toward the driver.

However, its crowning jewel is its massive 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities. It also has six USB ports as standard, along with wireless charging and a Wi-Fi hotspot.

As for its instrument cluster, the SUV comes with an 11-inch display.

The Traverse also has excellent cargo space if you fold all the chairs. The SUV has 2,736 liters of capacity that is accessible with the available AutoSense liftgate, a first for the SUV.

Power

Under the hood, the Chevrolet Traverse loses its naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6.

It has been replaced by a new 2.5-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged motor that produces 315 PS and 430 Nm of torque.

As for its transmission options, the Traverse can be had with an 8-speed automatic that sends power to the front wheels. However, a twin-clutch all-wheel-drive system is available in the Z71 trim.

For safety, the Chevrolet Traverse is available with several driver assistance technologies, along with Chevy Safety Assist. These include:

• Automatic emergency braking
• Follow distance indicator
• Forward collision alert
• Lane keep assist with lane departure warning
• High beam assist
• Front pedestrian and bicyclist braking

The 2024 Chevrolet Traverse has four trims: LT, LS, RS and Z71. It will officially go on sale in the U.S. in early 2024.
