A modern minibus: Hyundai Trucks and buses introduce the 2023 County New Breeze

Hariphil Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI, formerly Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc.) has introduced a new version of the Hyundai County minibus.

The County has been a popular vehicle from the truck and bus brand and is a leader within its segment. It has sales of over 800 units in the last six years or averaging 16 units a year since HARI took over the distributorship of Hyundai’s commercial vehicles back in 2016.

For 2023 HARI leaps into the new year with the County New Breeze, an updated minibus with upgraded features for more safety, convenience, and performance on the road. 

What to expect from the County New Breeze

The minibus now sports a fresh new face and improved body dimensions that accommodate 29 passengers plus the driver. Its gross vehicle weight (GVW) is 6,190 kg--10 kg heavier than the previous model--while the curb weight of 4,305 kg maintains good balance and stability, especially when the vehicle is loaded with passengers and cargo.

The County New Breeze is now taller than the previous model as it stands at 2,870mm, factoring in the air conditioning's electric ventilator and condenser unit. Relocating the A/C condenser unit to the roof reduces exposure to dirt, making the cooling system more efficient. It’s also 25mm longer compared to the previous model.

The County New Breeze also has an Extra Long variant that provides space for 29+1 reclining seats or an additional row for 32+1 standard seats.

More modern exterior

On the outside, the minibus gets new headlamps fitted with LED positioning lights and projector-type fog lamps for better visibility. The lights were designed with the golden ratio in mind to help them blend with the new chrome and matte black grille the bus receives.

At the back, the County New Breeze gets rear combination lamps, vertically designed to provide
maximum visibility. They also come with rear fog lamps on both sides for added visibility. Access to cargo has also been improved on the minibus as the cargo flap door can be conveniently flung wide open for more effortless loading and unloading. 

Better comfort

Inside, the County New Breeze has generous space for all its occupants. Its seats are upholstered with modern PVC material that can withstand travel's daily wear and tear. 

The cabin has been redesigned to be airy and comfortable with the addition of overhead lighting.

The minibus features a high-capacity air conditioning system that can easily keep the cabin cold. It even has digital dual climate controls for the driver and passengers with an LCD screen that monitors heating, ventilation, and the air conditioning (HVAC) system status. 

Circular-type adjustable air vents are also present in the minibus to help circulate cool
air more effectively in the cabin.

More convenience 

Aside from the cabin, the driver’s area of the County New Breeze has been updated with thoughtful improvements starting with a new crash pad and instrument cluster and
a more functional tilt-adjustable telescopic steering wheel with a new four-spoke design and
button controls.

A 3.5-inch Supervision LCD cluster in the vehicle displays a wide array of information, such as odometer reading, trip data, and other vehicle functions, with digital precision, speed, and colorful, razor-sharp clarity.

The minibus also has a revised switch layout that features a horizontal row of switches on the right hand, all logically arranged and identified for quick, intuitive use.

The driver also has access to the audio system fitted with a radio, CD player, TV, driver speaker, aux input, USB, and hand microphone, making it easier to communicate with passengers while maintaining a calm and relaxed atmosphere.

Better safety and stability

As this County New Breeze is a minibus designed to transport people and cargo, it has upgraded its safety systems. 

The bus comes with dual front airbags for the driver and front passenger and an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) as standard. It also has disc brakes for improved stopping power with an auto adjuster and pad wear indicator.

For better stability, the County New Breeze rides on semi-elliptic laminated leaf springs with mono-tube shock absorbers, while the rear setup has long-span tapered leaf springs to ensure good handling and a smooth, stable ride.

The power to haul

The Hyundai County New Breeze is powered by a turbocharged and intercooled CRDI diesel engine that produces 140 PS ps at 2,700 rpm and 373 Nm of torque at 1,600 rpm for dependable performance on the road.
