Ducati Panigale V4

The leading Panigale V4 Ducati model in its class is back for the year 2020 with several exciting upgrades and promising performance enhancements to take focused riders to the next level. Ducati has worked closely with Ducati Corse to engineer the perfect Panigale. The most significant improvement on the Panigale V4 is the chassis, which has been treated with a new front frame architecture featuring specific suspension settings that advance suspension travel and chain pull, resulting in better cornering thanks to improved front-end feel.

The new Ducati Panigale V4 S model comes loaded with technology, including riding modes, power modes, Ducati Quick Shift system, Sachs steering damper, quick selection controls, and an automatic switch for turn indicators. It presents a design that is grand, elegant, and stunning. The DRL LED sits atop the LED headlights at the front, and its design is further enhanced by dual-layer fairing, diamond tank, transparent front frame, and sleek tail guard.

For safety features, the V4 S is equipped with Cornering ABS, traction control, slide control, and quick up/down system. The headlight is a full LED unit with LED DRL, and the taillight is also an LED unit. The instrument cluster is a 5-inch color display, which houses all the information such as speedometer, tachometer, lap timer, fuel level, riding distance, and more.

This motorcycle has a reasonable curb weight of 195 kg with a wheelbase of approximately 1,464 mm, and the fuel tank has a capacity of 16 liters.

The V4 R motorcycle has a large yet lightweight form and offers a firm, comfortable, and light seat due to its mere 172 kg weight. The seat height is relatively high from the ground, measuring 830 mm. The handlebar position is also quite low, giving it the characteristic of a racing-style riding posture, leaning forward, and with the feet positioned high and knees significantly bent. Its handling matches its light weight, making it easy to maneuver. The chassis and suspension have a stiff and precise feel, providing stability and responsiveness. Additionally, there are no signs of wobbling during acceleration or cornering.

The Riding Mode strategy is also updated; particularly, the Race Riding Mode has been divided into two mappings that can now be freely compared within individual parameters, allowing riders to quickly compare two different configurations to determine the best setup based on the track and riding style.

The Ducati Panigale V4 is equipped with a 1103 cc Desmosedici Stradale 90° V4 engine, counter-rotating crankshaft, 4 desmodromic timing configurations, 4 valves per cylinder, liquid-cooled, and a compression ratio of 14.0:1. It features electronic fuel injection, twin injectors per cylinder, and an elliptical ride-by-wire throttle body with variable length intake system. The engine is capable of producing a peak torque of 124 Nm @ 9500 rpm and a maximum power output of around 208 bhp @ 13,000 rpm.

In terms of fuel consumption, the Ducati Panigale V4 has an impressive efficiency of 13.1 kmpl. All this power is controlled and monitored by the advanced 6-axis IMU, which oversees the motorcycle's sophisticated electronic systems. For the year 2020, both Panigale models include three different riding modes, as well as cornering ABS, slide control, traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control, power launch function, and a two-way quickshifter.

The Panigale V4 S uses Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tires, with the front tire sized at 120/70 ZR17 and the rear tire at 200/60 ZR17. This motorcycle is based on an aluminum alloy chassis, and the suspension duties are handled by fully adjustable Showa BPF forks at the front and a single-sided aluminum swingarm at the rear. Additionally, the braking system is equipped with 330mm discs at the front and 245mm discs at the rear.

Thanks to adjustments in the Ride-by-Wire system and electronic controls, the 1,103cc V4 Desmosedici Stradale engine of the Panigale V4 is more responsive and lively than ever before. With 214 horsepower at 13,000 rpm and peak torque of 91 lb-ft at 10,000 rpm, this is a force to be reckoned with on closed circuits and public roads. In the market, Ducati Panigale V4 is priced at ₱1,620,000 off the road.

When riding in Sport mode, the engine of the motorcycle is highly responsive, and it becomes even more exhilarating when using the Race mode. The quick shifter performs flawlessly, allowing smooth upshifts and downshifts. The Panigale V4 S is equipped with a wide array of electronic devices to ensure optimal performance and safety. It offers various Riding Modes, including Race, Sport, and Street, allowing riders to select their preferred settings according to their riding style.

To enhance stability and cornering speed, Ducati has made several improvements, including aerodynamics, chassis, electronic controls, and Ride-by-Wire mapping. These enhancements contribute to an overall better performance of the motorcycle, allowing riders to enjoy improved throttle control and have more confidence in maneuvering through turns.
