Changan Motors Philippines, Inc. (CMPI) is confident for 2023 as it celebrated a whopping 222-percent sales growth from 2021 to 2022.

The Chinese carmaker said in a Jan. 16, 2023 press statement that it sold 1,787 units in 2022, up from 557 units the year before.

The brand also celebrates its goal of hitting 100 percent of its sales target for wholesale as well.

The brand’s two best-sellers lead the pack in sales, the Changan Alsvin sedan and the Changan CS35 Plus crossover.

“We started 2022 strong and ended the year on an even stronger note, thanks to the collective efforts of team Changan and our nationwide dealership network, backed by Changan International Corporation, our local business partners, and the growing number of believers in the brand,” said CMPI president and CEO Maria Fe Perez-Agudo.

New crossovers launched

Changan started off 2022 strong with the launch of the new CS35 Plus, which has become one of its popular models, thanks to its advanced safety technology and excellent features. 

It has been making waves in the industry since its launch at the Manila International Auto Show in March 2022. 

Changan Philippines also finished 2022 on a high note with the introduction of the Changan CS55 Plus and the new Uni lineup of crossovers.

The Changan CS55 Plus makes for a powerful tech-laden contender in the compact crossover segment thanks to its well-mannered ride and many features.

The Changan Uni-T and the Changan Uni-K, on the other hand, offer a more premium option for those looking to get a compact crossover.

These were launched in December 2022 and set a bold new standard for lifestyle crossovers with Changan Auto’s latest avant-garde “Vision V” design language and intelligent mobility.

Shiny, new HQ

The brand also inaugurated its Changan National Headquarters last December 2, 2022, at the Auto Resources Center in Calamba City, Laguna.

This new facility will be critical to the brand’s expansion in the country as it furthers to increase its numbers, especially with its dealership network throughout the Philippines. 

“The strong 2022 performance of Changan Auto only serves to drive CMPI and the dealership network to provide nothing but the best products and services to the Philippine market," Perez-Agudo said.

"We’re ready," she added. "We’re pulling more surprise punches as we leap into the Year of the Water Rabbit.”
