2024 Kia EV9 final design to be revealed on Mar. 15

Kia has announced that it is set to reveal the final design of the 2024 Kia EV9 electric sport-utility vehicle (SUV) on March 15, 2023.

The South Korean automaker will showcase the car’s exterior and interior, along with other features. Other details like the powertrain figures will follow later in the month. 

Along with the announcement, the automaker has also released some teaser images of the electric SUV on its official YouTube channel that showcase the front, side profile and side. 

Starting with the vehicle's side profile, we can tell it is inspired by the brand’s existing large SUV, the Kia Telluride. It has a sweeping roof line, a broad front and a rounded rear.

LED lighting elements are also evident in the vehicle's vertical design layout. It also has a chrome mid-line that goes up at an angle near the D-pillar for a swept-up look.

Moving on to the front of the 2024 Kia EV9, it again looks like its sibling, the Telluride. It has LED headlights on either side, a vertical layout and LED strips flanking each side.

The upcoming EV9 also appears to have the brand’s signature tiger nose grille judging by the angle of the headlights.

However, we don’t expect the grille to be functional as the 2024 Kia EV9 is an electric vehicle that does not need it for ventilation. 

We can see a board tailgate with vertically positioned taillights at the back. These taillights do have a mid-cut on them that infringes on the tailgate.

Kia has even given surveys to Telluride owners to figure out what specifications they would want in the 2024 Kia EV9. The results from the study showed that they want a Kia EV9 that has around 200 to 250 PS and between 545 to 652 Nm of torque. 

The owners also stated they want the electric SUV to come with at least 350 to 466 kilometers of range.

As no official powertrain specifications are available, we must wait until after the debut to receive this new information.
