Considering the Pros and Cons Before Buying Toyota Vios 2022

Toyota Vios has always been one of the most well-known car models, making it the best-selling car in the Philippine automobile market in 2021. This Japanese-made car model has contributed the best sales among all offers of Toyota Motor Philippines. Vios has approximately sold over 24,466 units from January to September of 2021, dominating the local market.

If you’re like a typical Filipino who works hard and saves to buy their dream car, choosing a car that is worth their hard-earned money is a big deal. Having said that, a lot of Filipinos end up having the Vios. But, how well do we know the best-selling car Toyota Vios?

If you’re one step away from buying Toyota Vios, this pros and cons list might help you gauge what you are spending on.

Pros

reat value for money.

This Toyota model has always been popular in the Philippine market for its affordability. The 2022 Toyota Vios 1.3 Base MT variant is priced at Php681,000, attracting buyers on a budget. Though the base starts at Php681,000, Vios offers nine more variants priced up to Php1.02 million, giving the buyers the liberty to acquire a car suitable to their needs and wants.

One of the things to consider in buying a car is the safety features. At this point, Vios has the most impressive high standard safety features compared to its subcompact sedan competitors Nissan Almera and Honda City. The Toyota Vios is equipped with more airbags as compared to other models of the same car type, brake assist, stability control, clearance sonar, side curtain, and ISOFIX tethers.

Comfortability

Amongst most subcompact sedans in the Philippine automotive market, Toyota Vios has undeniably comfortable seating according to reviews. Even though its seating is almost similar to Honda City, the suspension is slightly firmer. The cabin noise level is just a bit lower in Vios, averaging at 69 dB, while the Honda City is at an average of 70 dB.

Toyota Vios won’t become a best-selling car if it doesn’t offer attractive features at a reasonable price. But just like other cars, this model also has cons too, and here’s some.

It’s the slowest in class.

This popular budget-friendly car is not as fast as other subcompact sedans in the market. Upon test driving, the fastest 0-100 km/h time recorded for the Toyota Vios is 13.3 seconds, slower than the Nissan Almera or Honda City - which did 12.2 and 11.3 seconds, respectively.

Not as fuel-efficient as rivals.

The Toyota Vios has consumed an average of 6.62-litre/100 km over two consumption tests. It is not that the Vios is not a fuel-efficient car, but compared to its competitors - Honda City (6.2-litre/100km) and Nissan Almera (5.80-litre/100 km), it is slightly fuel-thirsty.

In conclusion, there’s a lot to consider when buying a car. The Toyota Vios offers a good balance of functionality and affordability. If you are looking for a subcompact sedan that is good for city driving, then the Toyota Vios is a good choice. Although this model has some downsides compared to its other rivals, it’s competitive overall.
