Oh behave! Proper rider etiquette at "tambike" sessions

Oh behave! Proper rider etiquette at

So we got kicked out of Moto Streat; now what?

Let this be a lesson to us riders, lest we also risk becoming unwelcome at other tambike venues. We are already being discriminated as it is because of the negative image of motorcyclists to the general public. Must we give justification for their prejudice?

Why not be on our best behavior instead whenever we are at biker hangouts so we can prove them wrong?

Here’s a list of basic tambike etiquette to observe at public venues.

Park your bike in the proper spot

Oh behave! Proper rider etiquette at

We all want to have our bikes close when we have a drink, a snack, or a chat with our buddies. It’s nice that some venues allow motorcycles to be parked beside their al fresco tables. But if the place implements parking rules, let’s abide by them. Please do not park where our bikes could obstruct pedestrians or other vehicles.

It’s tambike, not karaoke

You may have the state-of-the-art sound system installed on your bike, and it’s okay if you want to show off, but be mindful of other people in your vicinity. If you must play your music, keep it down, especially near schools, churches, hospitals, or restaurants. Most people would like to have their meal in peace.

No test rides, please

Some tambike sessions also double as meet-ups for buy and sell people but do your test rides away from the hangout venue to avoid accidentally crashing into other parked motorcycles. No stunt riding and drag racing too! Yes, it happens…

The smallest pipe tends to be the loudest.

Yep. So don’t go broadcasting to the world that you are an inconsiderate oaf and that you are also likely compensating for some feelings of inadequacy.

With Moto Streat gone, what other motorcycle-friendly places would be excellent venues for tambike sessions? Any suggestions?
