Forget about gas price hikes! Check out the high-performing ECLIMO ES11 electric scooter 01

If you’ve grown tired of frequent late-night trips to the gas station just to beat those successive oil price hikes, then you might want to consider having an electric scooter in your garage.

Though we still have limited options in the local market when it comes to electric vehicles, there are some brands that seem to show promise in this early stage of the industry. One of which was present at the recently concluded 10th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit held by the Electric Vehicle Association of The Philippines (EVAP).

The ECLIMO ES11 is an electric scooter that is designed for both personal commuting and commercial use. The ES11 has a full battery range of 100 kilometers and a top speed of 85 kilometers per hour. With these figures, it falls under the L3 category of the LTO Administrative Order 2021-039 on electric vehicles. Meaning, you will have to have it registered with LTO like any gasoline-powered scooter and you must also have the corresponding driver’s license restriction. Yet, it could very well replace your conventional commuter motorcycle given the specs and it can even be the more practical choice in the long run.

The lithium-ion battery of the ES11 will last up to 1,000 cycles and the unit itself has a warranty of 3 years or 50,000 kilometers. According to EEMI Electric Vehicle Trading, the official distributor of ECLIMO in the Philippines, the ES11 will cost you just Php 50 per full charge. That’s Php .50 per kilometer, based on its range.

EEMI President Edmund Araga also attests that while the ES11 was designed and manufactured in Malaysia, it is well-suited to the varying Philippine Road conditions. It runs on 13-inch rubbers and has a ground clearance of 150mm so it can easily roll over those ever-present potholes. He even added that the ES11 could be ridden in floods up to two feet deep as its components, particularly the battery, are sealed with water-tight material.

For now, EEMI is currently setting up shop for the ECLIMO brand but they are already accepting orders. For inquiries, you may get in touch with them through their email eclimoelectricmanagement@gmail.com.
