10,000 units sold! Get to know Hatasu, the latest moto-EV brand in the Philippines 01

Hatasu is an electric mobility manufacturer registered in six countries – China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines – and you’ve probably seen its vehicles zipping around town without realizing it.

Making its debut at the Electric Vehicle Summit last year, Hatasu is relatively new but is growing rapidly and it has big plans for the near future.

While Hatasu is an international brand, it has established its headquarters in the Philippines with over a thousand personnel deployed nationwide.

Hatasu vehicles are manufactured in Wuxi, China, but are assembled at its plant in Cainta, Rizal. With more than 500 dealers and 9 concept stores in the Philippines, it has already sold more than 10,000 units since November 2022.

Hatasu aims to establish 100 concept stores by 2024.

Currently, Hatasu offers four models consisting of two e-bikes and two-e-trikes.

Hatasu Kumi and Hatasu Nero are e-bikes that fall under the L1b category of the Land Transportation Office (LTO). While operating them will not require a driver’s license and vehicle registration, the rider must still wear a standard motorcycle helmet.

The Hatasu Haru is an L2a category e-trike that also does not require a license and registration to operate. While the Kumi and Nero are allowed to be used on local roads, the Haru is restricted to private roads and barangay roads only. The Hatasu Mako 2 is an e-trike with a canopy, and it falls under the L2b category, requiring a license and registration to operate.

Hatasu will have an exhibit of its products at the Performance and Lifestyle Expo happening on September 16-17, 2023, at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. Check them out and test-ride all four to know which EV will suit your mobility needs.

With prices starting at only ₱23,000, would you consider hopping on one of these?
