Weighing the Pros and Cons of the 2022 Honda Accord

If you will be letting go of two million pesos from your savings account, wouldn't you nitpick first on your purchase? There's nothing wrong with being meticulous about your spending, especially if it involves such a huge amount of hard-earned money. And if you are interested in getting a 2022 Honda Accord, here are some pros and cons to look at before making the purchase.

Pros

A premium-looking car

Unlike most of the vehicles you see today – those with sporty finishes, black fenders, bumpers, and side skirts, the 2022 Honda Accord still slays the road with its classy executive design language. The design is mainly a combination of decent cuts, sophisticated chrome accents, and character lines. The sleek LED headlamps and taillamps are more pronounced upfront and at the back. The Accord also features expensive-looking 18-inch alloy wheels that go well with the sloping design of the roof.

The overall design gives an impression that the Accord not jusy a sporty and hyped-up car, but rather a luxurious and fancy one that's fit for business people. That doesn't mean, however, that it doesn't have the muscle to take you places because with its 1.5-liter Turbocharged i-VTEC engine, it can haul.

It comes with advanced safety features

While other entry-level Honda models have the Honda Sensing suite, it is a must that the premium Honda Accord should have them too. On top of its above standard safety and security features, the Honda Sensing includes Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist System, Collision Mitigation Braking System, and Adaptive Cruise Control. These features help the driver maneuver and control the car with utmost care and precision as they increase awareness of the vehicle's surroundings. These days, these features must be included in all vehicles and not only in the premium ones. This not just showcases advanced technology and intelligence , but it also helps lessen the severity of accident cases around the world.

It has a spacious cabin

It is good to note that the Honda Accord is a high-end car fit for people of high worth. Those who work in top corporate jobs or have excelled in their careers and professions. Most of the time, this type of car is bought by people who have drivers, which means that owners sit mostly at the backseat.  Because of that, Honda made it a point that the Accord comes with a spacious cabin. It gives enough space for the passengers to relax after a long productive day at work. Plus, the driver's seat also has enough space for a comfortable drive, even one that lasts long hours.

There is an easy access hole to the trunk

How cool is it that the 2022 Honda Accord comes with it easy access to the trunk? You can easily throw stuff inside the trunk without getting out of the car. This is a nice feature, especially when it is pouring rain outside, or whenever you're under the mid-day sun. Of course, the hole is not the biggest if you're thinking of rearranging cargo load in the middle of the traffic. The space is just enough to throw in some stuff that you wanted to get rid of during travel. On the other hand, grabbing something out of the compartment is possible at some point, like getting an umbrella.

It has outstanding performance

How funny would it be if the Honda Accord isn't equipped with a great engine for it to perform well? At its price point, every buyer is expecting a decent performance in return for their hard-earned millions. On paper, the 2022 Honda Accord comes with a 1.5-Liter Earth Dreams Technology DOHC 16-valve VTEC Turbo engine that makes 190 ps at 5,500 rpm and 260 Nm of torque at 1,600 rpm output. It is the same engine as its sibling Honda Civic, albeit returned to be able to give the heavier Accord similar levels of dynamism. Both vehicles are high-performing models of Honda and are capable to tour you around the city smoothly as if you're riding in business class.

The use of premium materials

Since the Honda Accord is a premium sedan, the materials used inside and outside the cabin are equally premium and high-quality. The seats, dashboard, steering wheel, and doors are covered with soft to touch quality leather that is simply exemplary. The exterior finish looks commanding and delivers an aura of confidence while reassuring your safety and comfort inside.

Cons

The interior finish doesn't look exciting

While the exterior finish of the Accord is indeed sophisticated, its interiors however appear somewhat muted and restrained. It does not excite the driver or the passengers. It doesn't mean that it looks bad and is not worth the money. It's just that it doesn't come with additional spice to the eyes and the feel. The sophistication is still there and the sleek curves present elegance, but there's nothing groundbreaking or class-leading inside.

The seats are not the most comfortable in the category

To be honest, the seats are of premium quality, and that's what anyone would expect for the Accord's price. But not everyone will appreciate the Accord's interior simplicity and lack of amenities. It doesn't mean though that this will also be the case for you. Perhaps you're the kind of executive who is not attracted by fancy touchscreen buttons at the back? In the end, it all depends on who is going to sit inside the cabin of the Accord.

After seeing what's nice and not with the Honda Accord, will it still be on your shopping list?
