KYMCO launches the KRV Moto 180 for ₱199,900 at the 15th Inside Racing Bikefest ongoing this weekend at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

The KRV Moto 180 breaks the traditional scooter manufacturing mold and integrates sports bike elements into the overall design. The chain-drive is made possible on a scooter through KYMCO’s Power Transmission Matrix (PTM), which maximizes power output to the rear wheel by reducing transmission loss.

Not your garden-variety scoot

The KRV Moto 180 has a flat-floor RV body design, allowing an optimal riding position for spirited and long journeys.

The suspension is tuned to suit both a single rider and when carrying a passenger. It features an independent swing arm derived from the motorcycle-based design of KYMCO’s flagship model, the  AK 550.

The KRV Moto 180’s 175cc 4-valve liquid-cooled engine produces 12.5 kW and 15.68 Nm, making it the most powerful in its class. Well, you could say that the KRV Moto 180 is a class on its own.

The price is right

Our initial price prediction for the KRV Moto 180 was spot on, as it now retails for ₱199,900. At this price, you get dual-channel ABS and traction control as standard.

Yet, as you may have already guessed, the supply is still limited now, so you better visit KYMCO’s exhibit area at the World Trade Center this weekend and hope there are still units left from the first batch.  

You could also opt for the belt-driven KRV 180i TCS, as KYMCO mentioned it still has those in abundance. Given that both versions share the same specs is having a belt instead of a chain a deal-breaker for you?
