Confirmed! 2023 Ford Territory to launch in the Philippines on April 12

Ford Philippines has released a teaser video for the 2023 Ford Territory, confirming its arrival into the local market.

The teaser video showcases the new LED headlights of the crossover, along with its taillights and signal lights. While initially shrouded in shadows, the last few seconds reveal the plate bearing the name “Territory” on it.

Aside from this, the teaser doesn’t show much else. Still, we suspect it is the first of many to highlight certain features of the 2023 Ford Territory until its official launch at the 2023 Manila International Auto Show.

New styling

The 2023 Ford Territory has already made its debut, featuring new styling resembling bigger vehicles such as the Ford Explorer. It carries sleek LED headlights and a massive front grille.

Its side profile has been tweaked to give it more of an SUV-like stance, especially with its bigger set of wheels.

At the back, the 2023 Ford Territory gets a new tailgate design and a new set of taillights that look similar to those found on the Ford Mustang.

As the new Ford Territory is bigger than before, we can expect it to have more inside space, giving you a more premium experience.

As this is an all-new model for the Ford Territory, we can expect to see a new cabin layout with more screens than before. A closer look at the versions being sold in China and Vietnam reveals that the Philippine version of the 2023 Ford Territory could come with two 12.3-inch screens.

The first screen will be for the digital instrument cluster, while the other will be for its infotainment system. It will also come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Aside from these two screens, the 2023 Ford Territory will also come with a new dial-type shifter and possibly even new drive modes.

More power

Even the engine is new for 2023. PHOTO FROM AUTOFUN VIETNAM

The new Ford Territory will retain its 1.5-liter displacement but will come with a more powerful engine. The new motor will reportedly produce around 160 PS and 248 Nm of torque. It will also ditch its CVT and will come with a 7-speed wet-type dual-clutch automatic transmission.

What about pricing?

Ford Philippines still needs to reveal the 2023 Ford Territory's pricing. You must wait for its launch on April 12th, a day before MIAS, as we have received an invitation to a Ford event for that day.  However, our estimates put it slightly more expensive, with a 100,000 to 200,000 price increase over its current iteration.
