2023 Mitsubishi Xpander Cross to sport Lancer Evolution tech

Looking at the quality of vehicles in this particular segment, it seems that today’s crop of seven-seater MPVs is getting more upscale. Most MPVs on the market are now equipped with all kinds of tech and advanced safety features that used to be unheard of in their class, just like the updated Mitsubishi Xpander Cross, which will be locally launched by the end of this month.

Active Yaw Control

Apart from the slew of changes found on the exterior and interior, the updated 2023 Mitsubishi Xpander Cross now boasts top-notch safety features, including Mitsubishi’s famous Active Yaw Control.

Initially found on Lancer Evolution models, this safety system can guarantee control on slippery road terrain by improving cornering performance. It automatically adjusts the braking force on the front wheels to optimize vehicle stability when cornering quickly or driving on slippery road surfaces.

Working with the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Active Stability Control (ASC), this system supports driving safety and comfort in various weather and road conditions. Something that will certainly come in handy when driving during severe rainy weather conditions.

Suspension upgrade

Another major upgrade is the suspension system, as the 2023 Mitsubishi Xpander Cross utilizes a larger shock absorber like the ones found on the Mitsubishi Montero Sport.

According to Guntur Harling, General Manager of the Product Strategy Division of PT MMKSI, the valves of the shocks are used by premium European sedan cars adapted to the 2023 Xpander Cross. The result is a more comfortable ride quality for the driver and passengers on the two rear seat rows.

Better to have than not at all?

With or without the AYC, the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross already has a capable suspension system, but does it need it? Well, it certainly pays to have that extra safety feature for those days when you will be better off with it. The point here is that Mitsubishi’s Active Yaw Control and the suspension upgrade will work wonders in making the 2023 Xpander Cross a better MPV that's safer to drive.

Will you be inclined to take home the improved 2023 Mitsubishi Xpander Cross with AYC?
