Honda Cars Marikina relocates to Sumulong Highway, to open in January 2024

Honda Cars Philippines Inc. and Gateway Group executives led by HCPI President Masahiko Nakamura and Gateway Group Chairman & CEO, Mr. Markane Goho lead the groundbreaking ceremonies of the new Honda Cars Marikina.

ICYMI, the Honda Cars dealership near Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina has been closed for a while. The facility has been taken over by Geely. That is why Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) is set to inaugurate its 40th dealership in the country by January 2024 at a new location in Marikina City.

The carmaker said in a press statement that it held the groundbreaking ceremony for Honda Cars Marikina City (HCMC) on Sept. 20, 2022. It is also the company's 12th Honda Cars dealer in the National Capital Region.

Located on Sumulong Highway, the new facility will be constructed on a 3,700-square-meter lot with a showroom for five cars and a service area with 10 working bays.

The company also said HCMC will feature "state-of-the-art facilities for general repairs, spare parts, body and paint, and preventive maintenance, along with highly skilled technicians."

"We are delighted to welcome Honda Cars Marikina City into HCPI's dealership network, and to strengthen our partnership with the Gateway Group once more," said HCPI president Masahiko Nakamura in a speech.

"We truly look forward to being able to reach more customers," Nakamura added. "When HCMC opens, there will be more opportunities to demonstrate Honda's commitment to excellence when customers explore our vehicles or visit for preventive maintenance."

The new dealership will be run by the Gateway Group, which operates the largest multi-brand car dealer in Cebu, with marques like Kia, Nissan, BMW, and Suzuki.

HCPI was established on October 1990 under the Philippine government's Car Development Program, which aimed to revitalize the local car industry following the ouster of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos in 1986.
