Ford Ranger Raptor: Still a Totally Fun Pickup!

When we talk about the Ford Ranger Raptor, it's impossible not to be amused by the prospect of having fun with it. And it's not just because this market favorite is capable of handling arduous terrain and difficult situations, it's also because it reassures you with its power and overall stamina.

It's easy to claim that a vehicle made to be driven off-road is a vehicle that is built to carry a heavy load. But it takes tests and in-depth drives to determine which will stand really out from the rest in the long term. In the case of the Ford Ranger Raptor, its unique selling proposition is that it's built tough from the get-go.

What makes it a fun drive?

The Ford Ranger Raptor pulls out all the stops to deliver and take you to the extreme.  Powering this beast is a 2.0-liter Bi-turbo diesel engine that makes up to 210 hp and 500 Nm of torque mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission in either a 4x2 or a 4x4 drivetrain configuration. Combined with Fox dampers, it is just built with wanton disregard for the kind of road you'll travel on. Just plow through any surface, and it will go without hesitation. What's more satisfying than that?

Why is it on top of its game?

Although there are various other reasons why the Ranger Raptor has become a highly sought-after model,  it is a fact that at this spec and price, the Ranger Raptor offers something unavailable to its rivals. It is basically a step above what others can give. In every aspect, Ford has done its best to provide a quality product. The Ranger Raptor is pre-loaded with a trucker's wishlist of hop-up parts. As a result, its owners say that the pickup exudes total fun. And it doesn't matter whether you're in the city or out on the trails, as long as you're up for a fun adventure then the Ford Ranger Raptor will not disappoint.
