Three Great Things of the 2022 Honda Civic You Shouldn't Miss

Thinking of the Honda Civic compared with its competitors, one can easily go hands down with a Civic. Honda boys love their cars and nobody’s going to tell them otherwise. Some things, however, can be appreciated more when things are subjected to a slight comparison. This can actually show how great something is as its painted on a different light. By doing this, I have summarized three main great things that a Honda Civic 2022 does a little better than its rivals.

It has Honda Sensing

The 2022 Honda Civic has all these safety features under a name – Honda Sending Honda Sensing is the company’s testament to provide road safety not only to its clients and their cars but also to everyone who has access to the road. Honda thinks that if every car has Honda Sensing (ergo, buy Honda) then the road will be safer for everyone.

Honda Sensing includes the following: Adaptive Cruise Control which regulates constant speed on the expressways and highways, good especially on long drives out of town; Low Speed Follow which maintains a safe distance between cars and other vehicles on the roads; Collision Mitigating Braking System or it warns you if there is a possibility of a frontal collision; Lane Keep Assist System which keeps the vehicle at the center of the visible road lanes; a Road Departure Mitigation and a Lane Departure Warning which gives an audible and visual warning whenever you swerve to the side and forget to turn on the signal lights; Auto High Beam system which turns on the high beams when no other vehicles are at a distance in front and lowers it automatically when there is; and, Lead Car Departure Notification which notifies you when the lead car in front has already begun to move.

Honda is not the only one with these technology, as other car manufacturers have these but in different names. I think what makes this special is that no competition has all these in one vehicle and have put them in a sedan like Honda did. Now, the Civic is one of the most technologically advanced sedan in the Philippines (don’t try to one up me by saying a Tesla!). Great news is that this is available in every Honda Civic 2022 variant. Also watch out for other Honda models which will have the same technology. By saying this, I also want to point out that the City and the City Hatchback, no matter how much I crave for the hatch, does not have Honda Sensing, so upgrading to a Civic can be quite a choice.

Fuel Efficiency

Fuel efficiency is also another strength of the Civic. Its figures are comparable with its rivals, plus choosing the Civic gives you the looks, the reliability, and the technology of what the 2022 model has. The Honda Civic 2022 comes with a 1.5 liter inline four VTEC Turbo gasoline engine which produces 178 horsepower and 240 newton meters of torque. This engine, despite the size, is quite fuel efficient. Certain tests show that city driving is about 10 to 11 kilometers per liter, while on the highway, it can go up to 14 to 15 kilometers per liter. On mixed conditions, expect about 11 to 12 kilometers per liter. These figures are not bad, as a matter of fact, good since you do not only get fuel economy but great engine power as well.

The 2022 Honda Civic is paired with a CVT transmission, and it also has two driving modes – Econ and Sport. If you wish to achieve maximum fuel economy, of course, just go to the Econ mode. Mixing the modes depending on the driving condition when, say, going out of town, Civic owners say fuel economy is still very optimal. Despite having great figures, however, comparing the Civic to a Toyota Corolla Altis Hybrid in terms of fuel economy, then the Civic has to put its hands up. Perhaps a hybrid engine on a Civic in the future can be a great idea. It can happen because Honda is known for making reliable and powerful hybrid engines in motorsport. C’mon, Honda!

Honda Guarantee

I can’t think of the right words to say it but this, the Honda Guarantee. The Civic is known to be a great car, a tuner for fanatics; a daily for many; a track car for the enthusiasts. Not all cars on its segment can one up the Civic as it takes on different roles on several occasions. Plus, you get to have these inside your cabin, making you feel at home all the time -- automatic climate control, a one-push start system, tilt and telescopic steering wheel adjustment with steering wheel controls and electronic power steering, a customizable instrument cluster, a touchscreen audio system, a Bose 12-speaker sound system, power windows and door pockets, and 12-V sockets for charging. With its many roles to play, one role sticks, it’s the Honda guarantee that you will love your car and the car will love you back.
