Toyota Motor Philippines has increased the price of the Toyota Corolla Cross, and Toyota Hilux for 2023.
This marks the second time Toyota has increased the pricing of the Hilux since their recent spec upgrade in August 2022.
The Toyota Hilux now gets local data communication modules (LDCM) connected to the car’s electronic control unit that lets the vehicle send data like fuel level, warnings, and kilometer readings to the brand’s local and regional servers.
All variants of the Toyota Hilux also get this device except the J and Cab-and-chassis variants. This leads the pickup truck to have an ₱18,000 increase for all models. We suspect that the new LDCM will be used to enhance further the myTOYOTA Connect application that can help you better track your car's needs.
+ ₱20,000 for the Emotional Red finish
Aside from the Fortuner and Hilux, the Toyota Corolla Cross will reportedly get a hefty price bump.
The GR-S variant takes the biggest hit with a ₱70,000 increase while the rest get a ₱15,000 adjustment.
The Corolla Cross has the most significant price increase because the Japanese automaker has given it various upgrades.
These include new roof rails, a sunroof, a 9-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto connectivity, a wireless charger, and a video-recording system for the front and rear of the vehicle.
This recording system will also be available for the rest of the variant lineup, while the V variant also gets the wireless charger added to its spec list.
+ ₱15,000 for the White Pearl Finish
As a side note, Toyota Philippines has also removed the Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8 V HEV, which we earlier reviewed, from the model lineup, leaving the GR-S model as the only hybrid.
Is the new LCDM worth the price increase, and do you consider the spec upgrade to the Toyota Corolla Cross GR-S worth it?
