myTOYOTA Connect app can help you pay less for car insurance

More and more local carmakers are jumping onto the smartphone-integration bandwagon after Ford Philippines recently unveiled its FordPass app.

This time, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) announced in a November 2022 press statement that it is rolling out its myTOYOTA Connect app, initially for the GL Grandia, Grandia Tourer, and Super Grandia variants of the Toyota Hiace van.

The app lets Toyota owners instantly get information on their vehicles, such as driving information, trip summaries, and maintenance schedules.

It also features a tracker that functions even when the vehicle is turned off and a geofencing system that alerts you if your Toyota has left a designated boundary.

“myTOYOTA Connect is yet another example of how TMP is determined to improve the Filipinos’ quality of life through technologically advanced mobility options and services,” said TMP president Atsuhiro Okamoto.

“With myTOYOTA Connect, we are not just giving Toyota users the power to enjoy the best possible customer experience through access to life-changing innovations and practical information,” he added. “We are also harnessing the power of data to continuously personalize and bring constant improvement in our level of service to our customers.”

Pay how you drive

TMP said myTOYOTA Connect can also help you get cheaper insurance premiums through Connected Toyota Insure.

The carmaker has tied up exclusively with insurance provider AXA Philippines for its “Pay How You Drive” scheme. Your premiums are determined by the driving behavior and mileage recorded in the app.

“More than just another service introduction, myTOYOTA Connect is another manifestation of TMP’s commitment to providing mobility for all,” Okamoto said.

“And the better news is this is just the beginning, and the possibilities are endless,” he added. “TMP is excited to provide more products and services that will not only enhance your vehicle experience but will also move your world and improve the quality of life for everyone.”

TMP said the myTOYOTA Connect app is available to Android and iOS users with a free, introductory two-year subscription upon download.

The company also said the app will be integrated with the latest updates to the Toyota RAV4 crossover starting November 24, 2022, with other Toyota models getting it later.
