2022 Toyota Rav4: All Features You Need to Know About

The Toyota Rav4 has been around in the market since 1994. And as time goes by, it evolves to be more mature and modern-looking like its rivals and siblings. Following the automotive industry's innovation, the 2022 Toyota Rav4 comes as a hybrid vehicle, which is a big step for its Japanese automaker moving forward. Several factors make it stand out among its hybrid vehicle competitors in the market.

Prices and Colors

The 2022 Toyota Rav4 is available in two variants in the Philippine market – the Rav4 2.5 XLE and the Rav4 2.5 LTD. The Toyota Rav4 2.5 XLE HEV CVT is priced at Php2,157,000 and Php2,172,000 when had in White Pearl Crystal Shine color variant. On the other hand, the top-of-the-line variant Toyota Rav4 2.5 LTD HEV CVT is priced at Php2,500,000 and it is also available in White Pearl Crystal Shine color for Php2,515,000.

Both the Rav4 XLE and Rav4 LTD come in seven color choices, including Dark Gray Metallic, Urban Khaki, Attitude Black Mica, Silver Metallic, Cyan Metallic, Red Mica, and the premium White Pearl Crystal Shine.

Powertrain System

The Rav4 HEV carries a 2.5-liter 16-valve DOHC four-cylinder gasoline-powered engine that makes 215 horsepower and 221 Newton-meters of torque output, paired to a CVT in a front-wheel-drive configuration, with a 2,487-cc engine displacement. Giving decent riding comfort is its MacPherson Strut and Double Wishbone suspension setup. The braking power comes from its ventilated disc brakes and solid disc brakes at the back.

Exterior

The 2022 Toyota Rav4 is a very distinguishable hybrid vehicle as it comes with Toyota's hued blue logo at the center of its front fascia, like its sibling Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid. Under the logo are a wide air vent grille and a radiator vent grille at the bottom above the front bumper. On each side, its aggressive-looking LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights complement the shape of the hood on top. Its LED fog lamps housed in a black carving also add a mature character to the face profile of the new Rav4.

On the sides, the Rav4 LTD got 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 60 series Bridgestone tires while 17-inch for the Rav4 XLE. The side also features black roof rails on top along with its black side skirts, black splash guards, and black accent piece on each side of the rear spoiler. There are also chrome accent pieces on the repeaters, around the windows, and door handles.

At the back of the 2022 Rav4 HEV, there is a hued blue logo of Toyota at the center, like upfront. Above the logo is a chrome line accent that lies across the protruding and fierce-looking LED rear lamps and turn signals on each side. It also comes with a two-tone rear spoiler with brake light, a shark's fin antenna on top, and a visibility wiper on the rear windshield. The Rav4 also comes with dual exhaust pipes on each side under the rear bumper.

Interior

The interior of the 2022 Rav4 HEV features a standard yet decent-looking cabin. The dashboard comes covered in a combination of soft leather with double stitching and hard plastic materials. There are also chrome accents on the dashboard panel, air-con vents, doors, and the steering wheel. Aside from chrome accents, the steering wheel also comes covered with soft leather with functionality and infotainment system controls for the driver. Behind the steering wheel is a digital information cluster that features fuel gauge, mode gauge, battery information, and temperature, which is important especially since the Rav4 is a hybrid vehicle. Its infotainment touchscreen supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and it has a CD player, which is a classic touch.

Its seats come with decent-finish leather with armrests, lumbar support, and bolstering. The rear seats fold 60:40 to provide more cargo space at the back if needed. There are also cup/bottle holders in front for the driver and the front passenger, and at the back for the rear passengers. It also comes with several charging ports around the cabin for all passengers, including a wireless charger in the first- row, under the air-con controls. There are also dedicated air-con vents for every passenger that keeps the cabin cool from the heat outside coming in from its panoramic sunroof.

Behind its automatic power tailgate is spacious cargo space. It is perfect for loading heavy stuff as it comes with a flat lip to easily slide cargo in and out of the car. When you lift the floor is where the spare tire is located, and a cargo space covering is also provided to cover the load.

Safety and Security

The all-new Toyota Rav4 HEV comes with several innovative safety and security features that are helpful to the driver and all his passengers. It comes with the standard driver's airbag, front passenger airbag, curtain airbags, side airbags, knee airbags, passenger airbags, seat belts for all the passengers, and ISOFIX tethers. It also comes with an electronic brake distribution system, anti-lock braking system, engine immobilizer, auto brake system, security alarm, vehicle stability control system, speed-sensing door locks, power door locks, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring system, rear parking sensors, front parking sensors, and adaptive cruise control.
