All-New 2022 Land Cruiser 300 Short Review: 3 Pros and 3 Cons

What do Filipino politicians and celebrities consider in buying premium vehicles like the Land Cruiser? As the LC 300 is one of the most common vehicle models used by public personalities and high society people in the country. It is priced starts at more than five million Philippine pesos, which is more than double the price of the advanced SUVs in the market today. What do its critics have to say about the 2022 Land Cruiser 300?

Pros

Its style design is classic premium.

Since 1951, the Toyota Land Cruiser has been a go-to choice for Filipinos looking for a premium SUV. It is categorized as a premium car not only because its price point is above the majority in its class, but its exterior and interior design style also separates it from other Toyota SUV models in the market. Its beauty is classic and commanding, it showcases itself on a high pedestal. This particular Toyota model is often used by celebrities and other public figures in the country.

It promises the utmost safety and security, as always.

Having said that the Land Cruiser is often used by celebrities and other public figures, one of the factors they choose the LC 300 over its competitors is because of its reliability. Toyota ever so promotes the Land Cruiser as one of the safest cars available in the market, and even without promotion, Land Cruiser has proven its reliability over the past decades, especially this year when the LC 300 was made even better by its Japanese automaker.

It is generally fun to drive.

There are several factors contributing to the overall satisfaction its users are getting with the Land Cruiser 300. Aside from the fact that its cabin is intentionally comfortable because of its premium materials, its ever-impressive powertrain system is the most robust in the Toyota SUV lineup. Its engine properties are more than enough to lift and run the Land Cruiser smoothly and safely. Its adaptive cruise control is reliable and helpful which eases the driver, especially in heavy traffic situations.

Cons

It is not a cheap SUV choice.

We all know that the Land Cruiser falls under the premium model category in Toyota's SUV lineup. It is premium in all ways, from its build down to its performance, this SUV is not a budget-friendly choice. That is also why we do not see the LC 300 too often on the road. Undeniably, Toyota is the number one car company for Filipinos in terms of sales because of its reliability. The Land Cruiser may not be a budget-friendly choice, but certainly, there are other SUV models from Toyota that are as reliable.

Its powertrain components downgraded.

The previous version of the Land Cruiser carries a V8 engine, while it now comes with a V6, which is a downgrade on engine specifications. Since several years have passed after Toyota launched a new version of the LC 300, people were hoping that the engine could be improved. However, the Japanese automaker went the other way. Nevertheless, even though the specifications are downgraded based on the numbers, the performance is as robust as ever, as if it still has the V8 under its hood, which is impressive.

It is not a fuel-efficient machine.

We have always been considering fuel economy whenever we acquire a new car, and it's a minus point for the Land Cruiser as it sips liters of diesel in a few kilometers, especially whenever driving inside the city. Although other car models of different brands are much more expensive in fuel consumption, the LC 300 is still far from being a fuel-saving machine.
