Goodbye, Subaru XV! Welcome to ASEAN, 2023 Subaru Crosstrek

The 2023 Subaru Crosstrek made its ASEAN debut on March 2023 with its launch in Indonesia.

It officially replaces the Subaru XV within the brand’s lineup with its quick name change.

The new model comes with a revised front fascia over the XV, which gives it a sportier look thanks to its new front bumper, new foglight bezels and sleeker LED headlights.

It is also available in the following colors: Offshore Blue Metallic and Oasis Blue.

For its standard color options, the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek colors retain Crystal White Pearl, Ice Silver Metallic, Magnetite Gray Metallic, Crystal Black Silica, Sun Blaze Orange and Pure Red.

Familiar power

Like its predecessor, the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek retains its 2.0-liter, twin-cam, 16-valve flat-4 gasoline engine.

It still produces 156 PS and 196 Nm of torque. Performance figures have also remained similar to before, with the Crosstrek able to do 0 to 100 km/h in 10 seconds with a top speed of 198 km/h.

The Crosstrek also still gets a continuously variable transmission and all-wheel drive.

The Indonesian 2023 Subaru Crosstrek is only available in one variant: the 2.0i-S EyeSight. Despite being the only model, it is well equipped with features like LED combination lamps, new 18-inch allow wheels and a sunroof.

Revised interior

On the inside, the Crosstrek is equipped with leather seats with 10-way power adjustability, aluminum pedals and a new 11.6-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Aside from this, the crossover also gets SB Type A and Type C ports, dual-zone climate control with rear AC vents and an electronic parking brake with auto hold.

Still a pioneer in safety

The 2023 Subaru Crosstrek is no slouch regarding safety, as the crossover has the brand’s latest set of driver aids.

The Subaru EyeSight 4.0 system grants the vehicle access to three cameras strategically positioned around the car that provide a broader field of detection.

It also gives the Crosstrek new abilities, such as automatically steering away from a collision and much more.

Is it coming to the Philippines?

With the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek now in the ASEAN region, Subaru Philippines might debut it at the 2023 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) on April 2023.

The new crossover may join the likes of its bigger brothers, the Subaru Evoltis and the Subaru Outback, who may be getting updates at the event.

The Subaru XV is on its way out as Subaru dealerships offer great discounts on the crossover, indicating that they are trying to sell their remaining stock.

However, it's still a waiting game to see what Subaru Philippines may have in store for MIAS 2023.
