Hyundai Staria wins the best van-import at the ‘Best Cars’ awards 2023

The Hyundai Staria has won the ‘Best Cars’ award from the German trade journal auto motor und sport. It is the second time the minivan has won this award since 2022. The Hyundai MPV took first place in the “van–import” category against 15 other competitors.

A total of 101,550 readers participated in the poll for the event, voting for more than 422 cars across 13 different categories.

“Receiving the award immediately after Staria’s sales launch last year was a pleasant surprise. It had turned into an incentive for the entire team to repeat this great success,” said Jürgen Keller, Managing Director of Hyundai Motor Deutschland GmbH.

“The fact that Staria was able to outperform these important competitors says a lot about our brand and the quality of our products. We are proud to have received this award for the second year. It confirms that our MPV offering remains unparallel in the German market,” he continued.

Futuristic styling

The Hyundai Staria also received a reddot best of the best accolade in 2022.

The Hyundai Staria carries the brand’s latest design language outside and inside the vehicle.

Higher variants of the vehicle get LED head and tail lights, while lower models get halogen lighting elements instead.

Whether in its comfort-oriented seven-seater configuration (2+2+3 seats) with multi-functional Premium Relaxation Seats in the second row or its eleven-seater variant (2+3+3+3 seats), the 5.25-meter Staria is unparalleled when it comes to the roominess.

Aside from this, it also has convenience features such as a hand-free system that lets all occupants communicate with one another using the infotainment system. A Bose sound system is also present with the vehicle providing a premium audio experience.

The Hyundai Staria also emphasizes safety with its plethora of airbags and safety features. The MPV also has a Rear Occupant Alert (ROA) feature that alerts the drivers visually and audibly to remind them to check the rear seats once the engine has been turned off and the driver door is opened.

The Staria also gets access to the brand’s Hyundai Smart Sense safety systems which give it features such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) with pedestrian and cyclist detection, Surround and Blindspot View Monitor, and High Beam Assist (HBA).

Flexibility at your fingertips

The Hyundai Staria is also available in multiple seating configurations, with which one being tailored for a specific need on the market. The MPV can be tailored to those who want space and luxury or for those who prioritize seating and versatility.

Higher variants of the MPV also get access to Nappa leather and captain’s chairs for that next level of comfort inside the cabin.

Under the hood, the Hyundai MPV also carries a decent amount of power as it has an efficient 2.2-liter VGT diesel engine, producing 177 PS and a maximum torque of 431 Nm. It is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission that can send power to all four or just the front wheels.

Aside from this, the MPV carries features such as a large infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, and USB charging ports in all rows.
