Pros and Cons Reviews: Is 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer Fit in Its New Class?

When Chevrolet revealed that the Trailblazer will make a comeback as a subcompact crossover SUV, the number of people who are eager to judge whether it has gotten better or not went up. Upon reading this, most likely you are keen to know what other people think about the new Chevy crossover. There are some advantages and disadvantages of the new Trailblazer compared to its previous model, and there are advantages and disadvantages of it over its current competitors.

Pros

It has a stylish exterior profile.

Seldom do we see a subcompact crossover SUV that looks awful and unattractive as automotive manufacturers are trying to get on a high spot in the fierce crossover competition in our time. Chevrolet made sure that the 2022 Trailblazer has a chance to be the best-looking crossover in the market. The exterior is very plush-looking which goes according to the modern trend. The front fascia features elements that make the Trailblazer a dominating car on the road despite its subcompact build, which is impressive and stunning. On the other hand, the side profile and rear profile are on a simple yet stylish appeal, which features black color tones with chrome accents.

The legroom space is comfortable.

Even though the Trailblazer downsized from an SUV to a subcompact crossover SUV, it brought its generous legroom space characteristic to its new class. It will be beneficial for the passengers in the second row as they have enough space which adds a point to their overall riding comfort satisfaction. Plus, the good news is, unlike other cars, the 2022 Trailblazer doesn't come with floor tunnels that make the middle rear passenger uncomfortable, especially on a long drive. There is more than enough legroom for some long ride leg stretches. And even if the rear passenger is a bit taller than average, there's still enough legroom at the back.

Its cargo space is generous.

As generous as the legroom, the cargo space of the 2022 Trailblazer is relatively more massive than its competitors in the market. It can accommodate up to 25.3 cubic feet of cargo load with its seats upright and 54.4 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded. It may have changed its body size to a smaller vehicle class, but its American manufacturer made sure that its capability to move people coincides with moving their cargo as well. That is a huge plus for a typical Filipino family as we always bring more than the necessary stuff when we travel. And loading things will no longer be a problem as it now comes with a power tailgate and a swipe to open feature, which is impressive.

It supports the advanced wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity are now the standards of modern vehicle entertainment systems, and several car models now come with them, but not all support wireless connectivity. The advantage of the Chevrolet Trailblazer among its rivals is it comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. There is no need to bring connection wires to connect your phone to the infotainment system. It makes playing your favorite driving song from Spotify easy and it makes connecting with your family efficient and hassle-free. It can also be an advantage whenever you have to find a specific location on your smartphone.

Cons

It doesn't have air-con vents at the back.

Chevrolet doesn't have a remarkable record of having the best automobile air conditioning system like Nissan. However, it doesn't mean that its air conditioning system isn't capable of satisfying its customers, right? The thing is, with all the cars I've seen this year, the Trailblazer is the only model that has no air-con vents for the rear passengers. There are no air-con vents on the ceiling nor in front of the rear passenger seat. The reason could be because too many air-con vents are not necessary for its origin country, the United States, and that's acceptable. However, if you live in a tropical country like the Philippines, you wish that you get more air-con vents instead of heated seats and a heated steering wheel.

It doesn't have charging ports at the back.

Like the fact that there are no air-con vents at the back, there are also no charging ports for the rear passengers, which is kind of disappointing, especially for those who have to stay connected at all times. I don't know why several missing features are supposed to be present for the rear passengers, I guess the Trailblazer maybe is not ideal for rear passengers, but Ideal for the drivers. If Chevrolet Trailblazer has disappointed you just because of this feature, you should think twice as all cars do have negative traits. And compromising a rear charging port is more acceptable than compromising some other traits.

The interior features are a bit dated.

The overall interior of the 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer comes in a combination of modern technology and old-fashioned features. The touchscreen infotainment system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity which is a step up in innovating the model. On the other hand, the instrument cluster still comes in a monochrome analog which is a very old-school approach.
