How Fuel Efficient is the Nissan Terra

When buying cars in the Philippines, the ultimate test for value for money it's not only for maintenance costs but most importantly, fuel efficiency. Today let's take a peek on the fuel efficiency of the 2022 Nissan Terra.

The Nissan Terra currently has four different variants, the 2.5 L 4X2 MT, the 2.5 VL 4X2 AT, the 2.5 VL 4X2 AT, and the top of the trim 2.5 VL 4X4 AT. All of these variants share the same engine. It is a 2.5 liter inline-4 cylinder DOHC YD25DDTi turbo diesel engine. This engine produces 187 horsepower at 3600 RPM and 450 Newton meters of torque at 2000 RPM. The lowest variant the 2.5 L 4x2 has a manual transmission while all of the models from the 2.5 VE, the 2.5 VL and the top of the line 2.5 V 4x4 are paired with  a 7-speed automatic transmission.

The engine of the Terra, despite the facelift and the upgrades, remained quite the same. With the power output and torque output, it can be considered that it is a little less underpowered than its competitors like the favorite Toyota Fortuner or the Chevrolet Trailblazer, which both reached the 200 horsepower mark. The Terra, however, boasts the right balance of power, torque, and fuel efficiency. When driving in city, the Terra can convert a liter of diesel to 10 kilometers, and of course in the highways, this is significantly improved at 15 kilometers per liter.

So, for those thinking of buying a Nissan Terra, you can already find what you’re most looking for. A combination of power and efficiency. Driving the Terra is like driving a small subcompact sedan. Where’s the problem in that?

The Terra starts at PhP 1.6 million for its base model which has a manual transmission, while the top variant is priced at PhP 2.3 million.
