Back in March 2018, Mitsubishi has launched a small multi-purpose vehicle – the Mitsubishi Xpander, replacing the Mitsubishi Adventure. Since its release, the Mitsubishi Xpander has gained massive popularity in the Philippines. This 7-seater MUV has the ideal size for family use and out-of-town travel.

Variants

The Xpander 2022 has four variants available in the Philippine automotive market. The entry-level 1.5L GLX M/T is priced at Php1,008,000, while the 1.5L Black Series A/T is at Php1,138,000. The third variant - 1.5 L GLS A/T, is priced at Php1,128,000 and the Mitsubishi Cross A/T is available at Php1,255,000. Mitsubishi Xpander comes in five color variants, including Jet Black Mica, Red Metallic, Titanium Gray, Sterling Metallic Silver, and Quartz White.

Exterior

The Mitsubishi Xpander’s exterior is influenced by the sport utility vehicle – Mitsubishi Montero Sport. Sculpted looks are prominent featuring a geometric shield design concept, and have 16-inch alloys that contribute to the overall sporty exterior. For safer night travels, Xpander is embedded with LED lights that emit a more natural and brighter light. As compared to its previous version, the 2022 Mitsubishi Xpander comes with major design updates, including the side skirts, rear bumper, grille, taillights, and face.

Interior

There are a lot of great interior features Mitsubishi offers with the Xpander. Its walls and floor are added with sound-absorbing material, so you won’t be needing to raise your voice as you speak with fellow passengers. The same goes with the roof, the pouring rain won’t be as annoying as before with the Xpander’s sound-absorbing roof material. Windshields and windows come with soundproofing materials as well. The air-conditioning system has 14 vents, making the whole cabin well-ventilated.

Third-row accessibility is easy because of the efficient fold forward seating mechanism. Unlike other MPVs, the Xpander has more legroom and proportioned space size dedicated to adults. Without folding all the chairs, this model still has a generous amount of space behind the last row. If the luggage space at the back isn’t enough, second and third-row seats can be folded to give a large cargo deck. The front passenger seat also has a tray under it for more storage.

Safety Features

Aside from its modern exterior finish and remarkable powertrain properties, the 2022 Mitsubishi Xpander has intelligent safety features for utmost driving confidence. Mitsubishi has included a hill start assist for safer steep slope driving. An Active Stability Control (ASC) is present in the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross variant. It helps to maintain control on slippery surfaces and turns. It is also equipped with Emergency Stop Signal System, which automatically flashes the hazard lights when you brake hard. The Emergency Stop Signal System will prevent you from rear-end collisions and provides precaution signals to motorists behind you.
