Peugeot will soon offer electric vehicle (EV) variants of its existing models in the next two years.
The announcement comes right after the reveal of the Peugeot Inception Concept car at the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The French automaker said it will launch five new electric versions of its existing models in the next two years before it changes these out with a new generation of battery electric vehicles for 2025.
On the list for electrification are the Peugeot 208, Peugeot 2008, and Peugeot 308. There are plans to offer EV variants of these vehicles by 2030.
Aside from this, the Peugeot 408 is confirmed to be getting an electric model. No announcement has been made for the Peugeot 3008 and Peugeot 5008, but these will likely come with EV versions soon.
“The five new models coming in the next two years are inevitably going to be off the current models that we’ve got, to a certain extent,” said Peugeot CEO Linda Jackson.
A new generation of electrification
This electrification revolution for Peugeot will likely begin with the launch of the electric e-308 hatchback as it offers the brand’s new-generation, 54 kWh, high-voltage battery and rides on the PSA EMP2 EV dedicated platform.
It also has an electric motor that is good for 158 PS and 260 Nm of torque and has a 400-kilometer claimed maximum range.
The Peugeot e-308 will also come with a plug-in hybrid model and an internal combustion variant to be launched later.
As it is one of the newer EV models to come from Peugeot, it will carry the latest iteration of the Peugeot i-Cockpit system giving key features like a 10-inch touchscreen, a 3D digital head-up display, and a heated steering wheel.
It will be launched sometime in the coming months and will remain on sale for the brand in its current form into 2025, making it a great transitionary vehicle into the new generation of EVs.
