It produces a sensational 397 PS and 583 Nm of torque, some 177 PS and 83 Nm more than the old model.

However, some markets wanted to have a diesel option, including Thailand. That’s why the Ranger Raptor unveiled at the Bangkok International Motor Show on March 2023 also includes the old twin-turbocharged 2.0-liter, twin-cam, 16-valve inline-4 diesel powerplant.

The unit still pumps out a respectable 210 PS and 500 Nm of torque, mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

“This year, Ford is expanding the ongoing success of next-gen Ford vehicles and is redefining the industry once again with the reveal of our newest variants, which stand out thanks to their next-level innovations and technologies that are designed to fulfill any truck and SUV drivers’ lifestyle,” said Ford Thailand managing director Ratthakarn Jutasen.

Aside from getting beefier styling and tires, the next-generation Ranger Raptor gets adaptive Fox shock absorbers.

These include adaptive damping that can adjust up to 500 times a second. The pick-up also gets uprated disc brakes, beefier stabilizer bars and differential locks to handle truly tough terrain.

Prices start at 1,769,000 THB (around ₱2.8 million, as of press time) for the Thai-market Ranger Raptor.
