Yamaha Motor Philippines (YMPH) recently held a Racing Clinic and track day at the Carmona Racing Circuit for Sniper 155 owners. The invitational event was joined by more than a hundred participants from Yamaha Club and dealers' rosters. Conducted by Yamaha Philippines Racing Team Head Coach Joey "Storm" Rivero, the one-day clinic included a short course on throttle control, proper visuals, racing line, and steering.

"We encourage aspiring racers to start the correct way by honing their skills on the track, which is a controlled environment. It is extremely unsafe, not to mention illegal, to do your racing on public roads," said Rivero. "Having a track day like this is Yamaha's way of promoting road safety and also a means to discover grassroots talents," he added.

The morning session was allotted for safety orientation and a lecture on the basics of motorcycle racing. Afterward, the participants were grouped into riders of 10 for each track session in the afternoon. YMPH provided those in attendance race-ready Sniper 155 units so they wouldn't have to be concerned about damaging their personal bikes in the event of a spill.

The Sniper 155 units provided were fitted with GP shifters, which have a reverse shift pattern. This makes it easier and safer for riders to shift gears even on a deep lean in corners. Among those who participated were YMPH Racers April King Mascardo and Gian Carlo Mauricio.
